This brief was to rebrand The Textile Society, which is a UK charity with a diverse membership of textile professionals and enthusiasts, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
My concept focuses on the different strands within the textile industry, with a cross motif symbolic of these groups coming together to form something stronger.
This theme is continued in stitches in the four colours of the logo which feature on the stationery and website. The stationery is printed on textured paper in a natural colour to give a tactile feel and has a zig zag cut to the base to mimic a cut with pinking shears.
I have also produced a linen print fabric to commemorate the 30th anniversary and used this to cover a small notebook, which can be sent to new members as part of their membership pack and sold at craft fairs to raise funds.
